Look at this champ! I help put the food on her fork, then she is able to bring it to her mouth unassisted every time. Our whole family kept cheering for her with every bite she took. For Christmas I bought her these foam tubes from Amazon and love them. Elise's therapists recommended them to use with utensils, toothbrushes, markers, glue sticks, etc. I love how they come on and off so easily and are very versatile.
She's a sensory seeker and needs a lot more input than the rest of us. She needs input to help her calm down and also to provide awareness of where she is in space. She also requires more input in the things she holds and uses so she knows there is something in her hands. This is why she needs such a big grip on items she grasps. Learning about new things like this make me happy because it's just one more way to help assist Elise in becoming more independent.

LindseyI LOVE being a mom to my 5 kids; one with special needs. There is no greater joy than being a parent! I love each one individually but this blog will mostly focus on our daughter with special needs and our journey with her. Thanks for reading! Archives
