With therapists coming and going, as well as friends and family who have been interested in how Elise is progressing, I thought I'd post more often of Elise's small but huge victories. She really is doing so well and I am so happy with all the progress she has been making.
A couple months ago Elise learned how to sit criss cross applesauce with no assistance! This picture was taken the very first time she did it all by herself and I had to quickly grab my camera to capture the moment.
Elise has been working very hard at building her core strength and balance during OT and at home so she would be able to master this position that seems so natural and easy to most of us. She has gained so much strength recently and even has improved her flexibility, mostly with her left leg.
It's amazing how such simple things are taken for granted. Everything she learns takes repetitive, hard work day after day, month after month, and even sometimes year after year. She learned this position after a good five months of hard work and I'm so proud of her!
I LOVE being a mom to my 5 kids; one with special needs. There is no greater joy than being a parent! I love each one individually but this blog will mostly focus on our daughter with special needs and our journey with her. Thanks for reading!
