Elise has never given us high fives before, no matter how much we practiced with her. Elise was in one of her really silly moods and I held my hand out for a high five and surprisingly she hit it! I cheered and she loved that attention so every time after that she gave me high fives. Way to go Elise!
This video cracks me up because at the end I realized I was holding Bryn's sucker in my other hand and Elise couldn't concentrate on anything else but the sucker I was holding. She does give a quick high five in here but did more before I got the video camera.
I was in the other room when I heard Bryn yelling, "Mom, come here fast!"
While Bryn was taking a shower, Elise came into the bathroom and seeing the water, wanted to get in too. I try to tell people about her fascination with water and that it's more than "liking" water. It's almost an obsession!
She climbed in the tub with her jammies on and laid down. This is exactly why I am just a little paranoid for her safety around water!
There is always an adventure every day with Elise around! And I love it! Most of the things are so unexpected and it just makes me smile. What a silly girl :)
How can you not help but smile and laugh when you look at her?!
This face kills me! She pulls this wide open mouth look a lot but haven't been able to capture it much on camera. She sure knows how to make us smile!
All the kids love this sand and water table! Right now it just has water and I'm sure that's how it'll be for awhile. It's great because now Elise doesn't always have to play in the bathtub and it's something they can all enjoy together. Elise played with it for 1 1/2 hours today! AMAZING!!! Now that is definitely a motivating item.
Yep Elise got in it. Quite a few times actually. Silly girl.
I was washing dishes and she couldn't stop staring at the water. I finally put her on the counter. She couldn't stop eyeing the water still and knew she had to touch it.
Her feet came in first then...
her WHOLE body!
Haha, it was so funny to watch! She cannot resist water. She's a magnet to it and just has to be in it.
Elise had a really rough night at our ward's Christmas party until she came in the room where Santa was. For some reason she thought he was hilarious because right when she saw him she got the biggest smile ever. After that she couldn't stop giggling. When she gets in these silly moods, she's super wobbly and just giggles. It's so funny! She almost pulled Santa's beard off when she was sitting on his lap.
Elise loves the wind and it was really windy today. Combine that with jumping and this little girl was happy, happy.
I love to capture these moments because they are very few. I find myself just watching her until the moment has passed. She's much more difficult these days and when I see her do something that makes her happy I know I have to stop what I'm doing and take in that moment because those are the times that help get me through the difficult ones.
She loves the feeling of laying down and moving around. She makes me laugh :)
I LOVE being a mom to my 5 kids; one with special needs. There is no greater joy than being a parent! I love each one individually but this blog will mostly focus on our daughter with special needs and our journey with her. Thanks for reading!
